About

Welcome to PreciseCuriosity!

My name is Tyler and this is my new passion project. Born and raised in NYC, I currently call Tokyo my home. I currently work in advertising.

When I’m off the clock, you’ll find me playing pool, grabbing a beer with friends, reading a book, shopping for gadgets online, or diving headfirst into whatever rabbit hole my curiosity leads me to.

Why Precise?

They say that perfection is the enemy of good, but I still chase precision.

In a world of noise, I look for the data to understand why things are the way they are, so I can make smarter decisions in my life. With a Master’s in Electrical Engineering, I am comfortable diving deep into technical topics when my pursuit calls for it.

Why Curiosity?

I’m wired to question everything. In a mix of compulsion and passion, I am driven to learn how the world works.

From the simplest tasks like tying my shoes, to more complex issues like data privacy, I find myself asking:

“How does this actually work? Is this the right way to do this or is there a better way?”

What’s in it for you?

I will use this site to explore topics that interest me and share what I learn.

In the current attention economy, it will be difficult to compete with platforms built to keep eyeballs glued, but I’ll give it a shot. I will try to make my writing insightful and informative.

In between random rabbit holes, I will share book and gadget reviews, and write about topics on technology. All the opinions shared on this blog are my own and do not reflect the views of my employer or any affiliates.

This page will evolve as the identity of my blog becomes clearer. I welcome you to join me on my journey.
